Do regular high protein diets have potential health risks on kidney functions in athletes

A study of bodybuilders showed during a 7 day nutritional analysis, as well as blood and urine testing in order to see if there is impaired renal function with a high protein intake. The tests found that protein intakes under 2.8 g per kg had no effect on renal function.

 An overview of a study done looking at protein intakes for athletes. Coming to a conclusion of strength trained athletes 1.4-1.8 g per kg a day and endurance athletes 1.2-1.4 g per kg a day.
